Julie Niss founded Personal Insight Therapy, LLC, in 2020 with the goal of providing Individual Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy to adults seeking to understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. Julie is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with adult clients on issues of Anxiety, Depression and Bipolar Disorder, Change & Loss, Trauma, and Health & Lifestyle changes. She adapts her treatment approach to each individual, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Insight-oriented Therapy, Mindfulness Practice and Trauma-informed care. She has advanced training in Clinical Hypnosis and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Julie completed her social work training at The Edinburg Center and McLean Hospital. Julie has worked in all levels of behavioral healthcare: Inpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient care with adults of all ages. She previously served as Clinical Supervisor at Tufts Medical Center Community Care in its outpatient behavioral health practice.
