Hypnosis

Forget about the stage performers and gimmicks you have seen and open your mind to the possibility of benefits from clinical hypnosis, facilitated by a licensed trained professional. Hypnosis is a collaborative process and typically involves several sessions to address the treatment goal.

Hypnosis, also called hypnotherapy, is an altered state of consciousness involving relaxation, heightened concentration and focused attention. During hypnosis, people are able to access levels of awareness, memory and creativity not available in the normal waking state.

Hypnosis has been shown to be effective in habit change including smoking cessation, making lifestyle changes and addressing phobias such as fear of flying or driving.

Hypnosis is a type of mind-body medicine.  Hypnotherapy may help treat any number of medical conditions in which psychological factors influence physical symptoms, such as pain, hot flashes, gastrointestinal disorders and skin conditions.

Julie Niss has completed advanced training in Clinical Hypnosis and has met the requirements for Certification by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.  She frequently attends workshops to further her skills in this treatment modality.

Please note that Hypnosis sessions are not covered by health insurance plans. The cost is $185 per 60 minute session.
